Wilderness Search K-9's

Wilderness Search Teams are trained to find lost or missing individuals in rural and urban settings. They generally work off-lead. We have dogs who look for any live human scent and dogs that are scent specific area search dogs as well. Many of these dogs cross train in Disaster or scent specific work. Look for our newest certified teams here in the coming weeks! We will post working photos soon!

Congratulations to Lt. Mark Handzo and K-9 Jake Lt. Terrie Clark and K-9 Angus for passing both portions of their wilderness certifications (Day and night search)! Both handlers passed the day search earlier in the month and on 11-20-04 passed the night search in less than favorable conditions! Thanks to all those who coordinated the certification and our victims for tolerating the weather! (Thank goodness you were found quickly!) Look for more info here on the newest teams to certify in the coming months!

This page to be updated soon to teach you more about this type of training and our own team training! Check back soon!
